Soul to Soul - Our Spiritual Connection

For the past few days, I have been thinking, how we all share this planet's reality with our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and strangers that may cross our paths while crossing the street or eating at a restaurant or at the airport, to never meet again.
How can billions of humans share a planet and not affect each other at some level? We share the same air from thousands of years ago; the air quality may be different, but the air we breathe has at least a few particles that were once breathed in by Jesus, Aristotle and Plato. It boggles the mind that this is a scientific fact! Of course, I am hoping I am breathing in particles from Jesus and Plato and not Hitler, but alas, it doesn't work this way. :)
We are One through the very air that we breathe, and our spirits, yet, we are individuals as well. I think how we each experience our world through our filters; while I can be content in my world attending my home and business, a friend in my reality may be experiencing anger and struggle, (or I can be experiencing struggle) and words that I may say that are coming from a place in me that is not anger, can be misconstrued to be threatening. This is the way of ego's filter's and projections.
If we learn to step out of our way, and communicate soul to soul the way enlightened Masters such as Jesus or the Buddha could do and modern day enlightened teachers can do, perhaps the world would shift in a second, because we will truly see the core of our souls which is always Love. So, how does one handle another person's conflicts? I have learned, the best is not to react but to just observe it. Yours and theirs, but without any judgments, just observe and the energy of conflict often dissolves on its own, and much can be learned about oneself.

I have been observing how I react as part of being spiritually conscious and on occasion, I may get irritated, I may huff and puff, but not for very long. I catch myself and see what is happening and cut the energetic connection by not feeding the drama and being pulled down into it. This happened to me last year, while I was busy living my life, two friends were at odds with each other, to which I had no clue, and my name came up as part of their struggle, which I found out weeks later. Instead of getting annoyed, I found it actually very interesting, because it made me realize, that I have no control over what is going on in the mind and lives of other humans, we each experience life differently, we each have our lessons to learn, and feeding conflict for conflict's sake does not Truth serve.
Years ago, when I embarked on this path and was a voracious reader of spiritual and psychological subjects, I came across an exercise where if one could not reach a loved one or even a boss due to a misunderstanding, and face to face communication was not leading anywhere due to the defenses of the mind and emotions, we could in the late evening or early a.m. when the world was quiet, mentally say "let my soul speak to the soul of John Doe", and speak words of understanding.
I have done this with my partner. When we wish to understand (not because of a conflict, simply for the connection and understanding) the higher reasons for a friend's struggles or lessons , we tune in to the person's soul, and we get glimpses which we both discuss, and the friend often comes back with the insights we both reached a few days later; this has happened a few times. We are indeed all connected!
My mate wrote this poem which describes how we humans listen through the filters of our human ego instead of our soul...
Soul to Soul
Just behind your eyes
There's someone I need to talk to
But you keep looking away.
I listen for a familiar voice
But you keep screaming over it.
And it's hard to hear.
Your heart is my heart
But you keep the doors closed
And I can't breathe.
Every time we get up to dance
You think you need to lead
And then you step on my feet.
There is a visitor inside you
That I need to be with.
You think I've come to see you
And so you slam the door in my face.
I slam my door in return
So here we sit
Behind closed doors
Trying to understand
How we became two ....

ahah..sometimes is very easy.. :)
the other day I was driving, feeling very well.. and was admiring the trees along the road.. I said to myself 'How gorgeous!" and then I saw some people walking their beautiful cute dogs.. and I was just 'drinking' all this beauty around.. and then I realized the presence of a car in the next line.. he pull down his window and gave me the finger!!!! .. what?! .. why?! geez.. I was completely puzzled.. I asked my self.. should I be offended? I wasn't...that guy must have felt really bad to give the finger.. like throwing up.. doesn't feel good while throwing up.. maybe he was trying to get into my line? don't think so, he was just to my right..after a while the whole thing was funny to me..
and sometimes it takes a while, like you said Marie..
with the guy from my group at school (the class I am taking at GWU), it wasn't that easy to not engage.. the first meeting was kind of okay.. after the second meeting he was being a jerk.. I DIDN"T LIKE HIM.. ahahahahah..
we had arguments.. and I didn't like him more... my complete opposite (to this me) ..
he is a business corporate guy who his goal is to achieve success and make as much money .. very straight forward but rude... if he has to 'kill' people in his path, he will..geez..
after a couple of weeks..I don't remember exactly how is that it started to not bother me.. I didn't try to be good and be compassionate..there is nothing good about trying to be good.. so I just don't try... I was just feeling this rejection to him.. ahahahahahah..hehehehe.... .(I even tried to get out of this group, but the professor didn't let me).. don't remember what was the turning point (I'll look at my journal).. but I started to observe it..it was like watching a Lion do its thing.. predator in the field.. running after some animals.. killing them.. eating them.. however, more and more I was more in peace with his presence.. and since I didn't feel being a victim, I just handle him without any intention to confront him or 'fix' him.. I was just not his lunch for the day... a simple short 'NO' would do it.. and it worked.. it is funny..then there was a week when I found myself feeling compassion for him, a caring feeling, even though his ego was in full display. this compassion feeling was different than other times I felt..I was not wishing to feel compassion in this situation.. but it happened..I didn't do a thing . just compassion was there.. it was an Impersonal compassion... and the following meetings, surprise..surprise.. he was trying to be nice to me.. even doing funny crazy things to make laugh.. we don't scream at each other anymore..he still is being 'cruel' with other people.. not sure he realize.. maybe he does..it is like he can't help it. strange guy. last time we speak to each other, before the presentation, it was like if we were siblings or something like that. personalities were dropped.. like if we knew each other for centuries..like looking at myself..hmm..
not.. like 'looking' at Self (myself was not there looking or being looked)
This one is good because of the self experiencs have provided interesting touch as a spiritual path finder: Some how the process of self learning through experiences have become the base of your overall presentation, so that it is more effective for those who are really aware about spirituality and its various kind of processes!
The soul to soul connection is always there but we feel that some time, when the grace moments are there or we suddenly open up to grasp that... But these all are glimpses to provide us inspiration to go for such life for ever!
Hi, Healwell: How I wish I could feel the soul to soul connection at all times, but the mind and ego sometimes gets in the way. However, the glimpses do provide us with inspiration and reminder who we all truly are!
I like your thoughts. I also often sit and ponder the connection we all have with each other and even the connection we all have with nature. Some would ask how does God keep up with so many but yet to each in a personal way? Then I thought about the human brain and how it controls the many trillions of cells in our body and how the soul (our spirit) has the understanding that it is only connected to the body for the duration of physical life and then I realize that my soul needs a body in order to express itself. Hi, Sb: I would define connecting without the filters of our ego to be the highest connection. As the poem describes, we often don't "hear", "see", or connect because our mind/thoughts (or ego) is busy making up perceptions of who the other person is, forgetting to look into the soul of the other which is who we really are.

I agree that we have no control of what anyone may say or do.
And i feel it as a wound of a kind.We may want things to be a certain way,we may want to love and be loved,but until we have dealt with the reality of whats really going on,even in the unconscious,it is very difficult.

Your hub has touched me! I feel you see life on Earth pretty much as I do. Yes, I have my flaws, but I try to learn from them and improve. When I give I have so much joy! It is because of that oneness that links us All. I agree! We must observe and not get involved, for we write our own story and so do the others...

Very insightful. I feel at some level we are all connected. At times, when I think of a particular person or sense their presence, they appear a few hours to a few days later. I have some sort of interaction with them with regards to what I was thinking about in relation to that person. Hope that makes sense. All in all, when that happens I feel as if my soul/spirit was connecting with the other person's, drawing them to me. Very nice article :)
